Experience Klassiek
Academy
The Experience Klassiek Academy offers a rare opportunity for the world’s most talented young musicians to step into the real life of a touring artist. More than just a stage, this program is an immersive journey through Europe that combines high-level performances with personal mentorship, professional development, and unforgettable experiences.
Sharing Music
At its core, the Academy is built on the belief that music is meant to be shared – not judged. That’s why the focus is not on competitions, but on connecting with real audiences. Every concert becomes a moment of exchange, and every audience, whether large or small, brings out a different energy in the performer. Participants quickly discover that sharing music with people who are there to listen, not to evaluate, leads to a deeper and more fulfilling artistic experience.
Each tour is unique. The concert locations and schedule follow the international performance calendar of violinist Karen Su and pianist Ruben Plazier, who personally guide and teach all participants throughout the week. Concerts take place across Europe, in a wide range of venues – from world-renowned concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Rudolfinum Prague, AMUZ Antwerp, and Concertgebouw Brugge, to small, intimate spaces where just a handful of listeners are present. Some concerts come with luxurious dressing rooms and grand receptions, while others require changing in unconventional spaces and navigating practical challenges – all part of the authentic experience of being a musician on tour.
Every day includes lessons with Karen and Ruben, allowing for deep artistic growth and continuous feedback. Traveling together also means there is time for honest conversations and a clear view into what a musician’s life really looks like – on and off stage. Participants learn how to engage with audiences after the concerts, how to speak with sponsors, and how to present themselves as professional artists. These are crucial, real-world skills that are rarely taught in the classroom.
To ensure the highest quality of performance, participation in the Academy is by invitation or audition only. Musicians are selected based on video submissions and evaluated before joining the tour. Only the most talented young artists from around the world are invited, ensuring a high level of artistry and mutual inspiration.
Parents are welcome – and encouraged – to travel alongside their children. Experiencing the tour firsthand offers families valuable insight into what a life in music truly demands and provides a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a professional artist’s world.
